The best LiFePO4 chargers for 2026

A lithium iron phosphate battery wants a different charge curve from a lead-acid one, and the difference is in the voltages rather than in the plug. A charger built for flooded cells ends its cycle at a voltage that leaves a LiFePO4 bank short of full, and one built for gel is gentler still; conversely, a lithium profile applied to an old lead-acid battery pushes it harder than it likes. So the specification to read first is the absorption and float voltages, and whether the charger publishes them at all. Charge current decides the time: a 100 Ah battery on a 10 A charger is an overnight job, on a 30 A charger an afternoon. Profile selection — a switch, a dial, an app — is what makes a charger useful for more than one battery, and a unit with a user-defined profile can follow a maker’s exact numbers. Low-temperature behaviour matters because charging lithium below freezing damages cells: some chargers read a temperature sensor and stop, most rely on the battery’s own BMS, and the listing should say which.
